Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass has come under heavy and well-warranted criticism. She was told about the extreme fire danger and heavy winds that were in the forecast, but she chose to go to Africa on the taxpayer dime to witness an inauguration. Upon her return she was evasive and unable to solve anything. She might be suited to run a town in Cuba, but not a major metropolis in America. The mayor slashed over $17 million from the fire department budget and that money went toward raises and more benefits for city employees. In other words, the Mayor wanted to grow government, not services.

Her own gay fire chief, Kirstin Crowley, now blames the gay Bass outright for preventing the fire department from effectively doing its job. LA spends $1.3 billion per year to ply the homeless there with free drugs, food, and on the streets and Bass cut services to taxpayers to help make that happen. Perhaps Bass will now order rainbow-colored fire suppressant to be released from the planes.

Regardless, blame for the hot mess in California can ultimately be placed at the feet of Governor Gavin Newsom. (Also known as ‘Gruesome Newsom,’ and ‘hair gel’). Due to his progressive ideologies, he’s known as the Justin Trudeau of California. Like Trudeau, Newsom needs to step down for his destructive woke and environmental policies. After getting reservoirs fully replenished over a year ago, Gavin simply let all that fresh, clean water drain out into the ocean to save a few smelt.

Newsom has pushed for open borders, sanctuary cities and now a sanctuary state. He drove that state deep into debt while allowing—almost encouraging—the homeless problem to blossom. Who pays? California’s taxpayers. The high taxes drove many out of state, thus widening the gap between rich and poor. With the fires, the rich are now suffering and discovering the rewards of supporting leftist DEI and ‘woke’ policies.

DEI in particular became more important than merit. Those running California’s cities, police and fire departments have often proved to be unqualified. The mayor has been exposed. Citizens are over-taxed and over-red taped and they are now discovering that they get nothing for their money. Perhaps the fires will red pill them and they’ll begin waking up and voting out the insanity.
