Illegals Brawl Outside A NYC Hotel In Broad Daylight
Violence erupted Sunday in Midtown New York City when illegal immigrants swarmed outside the Row Hotel. This breach of peace involved hitting others with sticks, bats, and even traffic cones that further accentuated how far this fight descended into chaos. During the fight between the illegal immigrants, one bat-wielding combatant was tackled to the ground by others involved in the skirmish while onlookers watched and filmed. Vehicles nonchalantly flowed between the melee—indicating an eerie tolerance of such unacceptable behavior. NYPD did not immediately respond with a comment. It is unclear what caused the brawl, but the disturbance outside the Row Hotel is just one of many in New York City. Dozens of hotels have been converted into these free shelters funded by both state and federal governments. New York City has seen a huge uptick in crime these recent years thanks to Joe Biden’s open border policy. Over 190,000 illegal immigrants—possibly even more—have flooded into the Big Apple, bringing peril to a city of opportunity. 64,000 are currently living in hotel turned shelters such as the Row Hotel across the city. Today’s brawl is just one many—there was a scuffle between illegal vendors in Jackson Heights and a murder on Randall’s Island (a massive tent city to house illegals) last January. Last month without effect, Mayor Eric Adams imposed curfews on several shelters. Outrage is common among New Yorkers who are concerned about illegals consuming their tax dollars. William Shandler, a manager at Iron Bar located across from the Row hotel, told the New York Post, “Our taxes are being used to pay for the migrants. Where are we supposed to make revenue?” “The migrant crisis is a gash on state and local finances, and housing is where taxpayers are bleeding most,” Ken Girardin, research director at the watchdog Empire Center for Public Policy, also told the New York Post. The Row Hotel is currently getting $5.13 million per month to shelter illegal immigrants, and the entire city has spent $1.98 billion on free housing. 80% of that nearly $2 billion is being used to transform hotels to free shelters. This trend has also been called out by the Republican Councilwoman, Joann Ariola, who argued that the hotels were “built for tourism” and “not for sheltering the masses of people pouring over our borders every day.” Violence at these shelters, as seen in front of the Row Hotel, are becoming common across the country.
