Elizabeth Warren advanced her career by pretending to be a full-blooded American Indian, but when she attempted to corner Hegseth using a hypocrisy argument it quickly blew up in her face in a chorus of laughter. Hegseth sent her and her prominent cheekbones packing back to her teepee.

Senator Maize Hirono tried to pin Hegseth down on a theoretical invasion of Greenland and the takeover of the Panama Canal. She tried to get him to disagree with President Trump. Hegseth gave her the brushoff. “I would never publicly state one way or another to direct the orders of the president,” he said. 

A shrill Senator Kiersten Gillibrand grilled Hegseth over the role of women in the military. He assured her he would never disparage women serving in the military.

Then there were accusations of infidelity, drunkenness, and violent behavior—all of which could be applied to Democrat politicians. Pelosi has even set up a bar in Congress. The Democrats ran their ‘Kavanaugh’ attack on Hegseth, hinting unsavory rumors about his treatment of women. These are the same people who were eager to give the rapist and sexual assaulter Bill Clinton a pass.

Senator Tim Kaine, Hillary’s nominee for Vice President, was particularly insulting. He even asked Pete about his 7 year-old daughter. His rude personal questions were designed to rattle Hegspeth. Kaine said, “So you think you are completely cleared because you committed no crime? That’s your definition of cleared?”

Well, yes—he was cleared and committed no crime. What do you want, Kaine? 

One of our favorite questioners was the newly-minted Senator from Montana, Tim Sheehy, who replaced the folksy but far-left Jon Tester. Sheehy questioned Hegspeth about weapons and equipment and Pete knew all the answers instantly. Both Sheehy and Hegseth were combat veterans, so naturally there was a rapport. 

Trump wants Hegseth because he’s not one of dozens of generals with political biases. Hegseth is not a general at all as Warren found out, but Pete knows what it takes to reform the ranks and make our military a fit fighting machine once again. That means wringing out all the woke nonsense put in place by Obama and Biden. Maybe Hegseth can even find out what happened to all the trillions of dollars that routinely go missing from the Pentagon.

A strong military is necessary, but it’s also time to end the forever wars. President Trump and Defense Secretary Hegseth can accomplish that.
