Iran Finds Out
Cartoon published 07/25/2026
Thirteen straight days of bombing. That’s what Iran endured before it exhibited a slight interest in US peace negotiations. Iranian hardliners immediately dismissed that possibility. One wonders why they won’t agree to peace when the alternative is complete destruction. President Trump will continue to destroy Iranian infrastructure—including bridges and power plants, as well tunnel facilities in Iran’s mountain hideaways.
China has joined Pakistan in an effort to persuade an end to the hostilities, but unless Iran stops bombing oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, peace is unlikely.

Meanwhile, Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen launched a missile strike on an oil facility in Saudi Arabia. Bahrain and Kuwait have experienced attacks from Iran and have retaliated with bombing strikes against Iran’s missile depots, which seem to be ubiquitous. Such regional escalation is concerning and the war is unlikely to end any time soon as long as Iran is controlled by medieval, militant mullahs and the Revolutionary Guard, which have been building up munitions since the hostage days of Jimmy Carter.

The Iran regime holds on because they can’t imagine losing the power and prestige they’ve so long enjoyed. They know they are hated by a large segment of their citizens. Regime change means retribution and punishment from their victims. Nearly 50 years of brutal tyranny will do that.
