Donald Trump faced incredible odds to become president—twice. He was a billionaire and could have enjoyed a comfortable, happy retirement surrounded by his family and playing golf. Instead, he wanted to help his country and so he put himself out there to get his reputation endlessly shredded and his very life threatened. He traveled a hard-scrabbled road with daunting challenges that would crumble most men—and he came out on the other side with a sharp mind with many MAGA-minded allies.
Normally I’d like to keep politics separate from my fine art, but Trump deserves a tribute both in ink and paint. When he first ran for president he inspired me to draw a great many cartoons and we began to sell originals and prints, which helped us make a living from cartooning. Now we also sell paintings and here is Trump in my cubo-futurist style and it is titled “Red, White, and Blue…and Orange.”
