Apocalypse Not Now
Cartoon published 04/08/2026
President Trump was adamant. He insisted the US would wipe out Iran’s infrastructure at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and for a while it looked like the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps would refuse to budge. Negotiators from Pakistan hammered out a two-week ceasefire ahead of the deadline and Trump agreed to it. The Strait of Hormuz will now be reopened.
This is a win for Trump and America—and for Iran’s citizens as well. They were ordered to act as human shields at bridges and power plants. The IRCG and the mullahs in charge showed their immoral hand—they had already killed 30,000 of their own citizens when they protested in the streets. It should come as no surprise that they were willing to massacre their own to hold onto their power.

Some expressed disappointment that Trump didn’t carry out the attack. Others claimed Trump showed weakness and ‘chickened out,’ but opening the Strait of Hormuz by agreeing to the ceasefire was the right move—and it was brought about by Trump’s resolve. Trump stared down the regime in Iran and they blinked first.
