Graham Platner faced huge pressure to drop out of the Senate race in Maine, and now he has done just that. The question is, who will replace him?

Will the voters have any say, or will the Democrat hierarchy decide on the replacement candidate without voter input? We have already seen that before—powerful Democrats chose Kamala Harris when Joe Biden was forced to drop out. There was no primary. This from a party that always shouts about ‘democracy.’

Platner, an oyster farmer with a Nazi tattoo, was already one of the more dodgy candidates the Democrats have come up with, but maybe they thought he was, at least, somewhat manly. Platner was promoted by the Democrats as a ‘man of the people.’  Apparently Democrats think a ‘man of the people’ wears a wife beater shirt and has Nazi tattoos.

Platner was despicable, but Democrats were still willing to vote for him because he spewed all the leftist Bernie Sanders-like platnertudes…er, platitudes. Now time is running out and the Democrats are in disarray. Susan Collins probably has the race in the bag.

Meanwhile, Platner the politician now swims with the oysters. Or he could choose to run again—maybe for President. Hunter could be his running mate. Swalwell could be his Secretary of War. (Remember when Eric wanted to nuke Republican citizens?) Gavin Newsom could be Platner’s Secretary of State. Maybe, but the Democrats are abandoning Platner’s ship as fast as they can swim.
