Time to shed some pounds Big Government

It’s obvious that our fat, bloated blob of a big government has been for way too long growing in a capacious manner and it needs to go on a diet. To make that happen, President Trump has appointed two very smart people, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, to the DOGE committee (Department Of Government Efficiency), and they will recommend which bureaucracies need trimming. (Most likely they’ll all get trimmed and hopefully some will be eliminated entirely).
According to Wikipedia,
Musk has suggested that the commission could help to cut the U.S. federal budget by up to $2 trillion through measures such as reducing waste, abolishing redundant agencies, and downsizing the federal workforce. Ramaswamy also stated that DOGE may eliminate entire federal agencies and reduce the number of federal employees by as much as 75%. Musk has also proposed consolidating the number of federal agencies from more than 400 to fewer than 100.
We’ve all read reports about how wasteful and corrupt our federal government can be. Some of the examples are downright silly, but the money spent is almost certainly kicked back to government functionaries and their families.

The biggest waste is spending tax dollars to pay interest on the national debt. That’s ridiculous farce if one considers money can be printed up by our own government debt free. If we did that we could eliminate the Federal Reserve.
We could also easily eliminate the Department of Education and allow the states to determine what’s best for their kids. Test scores would likely improve.

Then there are all the bureaucracies using small portions of expensive buildings. The bureaucrats mostly work at home now—and only spend a small portion of their time at the office. While at home they are most likely goofing off, but it doesn’t matter. A lot of the government jobs are redundant and irrelevant. However, they are all extremely well-paid and draw great pensions and medical care, unlike common citizens who are tax slaves.
Maybe the DOGE Commission can also find out why the Pentagon keeps losing 3 or 4 trillion dollars each year. Pentagon officials simply shrug it off, saying it’s too hard to difficult to solve, but that amount of money is getting siphoned off and put into dark pools somehow.

We wish Musk and Ramaswamy the best. If they can eliminate government waste it will be a lasting gift to our country, and while they are at it- eliminate about 80% of the 499 government agencies that exist!
